DSI and DYWIDAG Worldwide: A long Tradition of Innovation
The long tradition of the DYWIDAG license business began in 1950. It was based on the sale of know-how developed by DYWIDAG and was covered by a separate division within the company, the License Department. In order to meet foreign demand, DYWIDAG subsidiaries were founded in key markets.
As a consequence of the promising growth of this international business, DYWIDAG decided to co-ordinate these activities within a new, independent organization in 1979. The DSI Group was established in order to continue and further extend the successful worldwide marketing of DYWIDAG systems and technical know-how.
Nowadays, DSI is global market leader in the development, production and supply of Post-Tensioning and Geotechnical Systems as well as Concrete Accessories for the construction industry. Furthermore, DSI is a leading supplier of Ground Control Solutions for the mining and tunneling industries worldwide.

| June 2007 | DYWIDAG-Systems International (DSI) acquires the remaining shares of the Italian company DYWIT SPA. Headquartered in Milano, DYWIT SPA is a leading supplier of DYWIDAG Post-Tensioning Systems, Geotechnical Products and Concrete Accessories. |
| May 2007 | DSI acquires TUBUS Portugal. TUBUS as market leader looks back on more than 40 years’ successful activities in the supply of concrete accessories and equipment for the construction industry. |
| January 2007 | DSI acquires contec Bausysteme GmbH, Germany. The acquisition is both operationally and strategically important as it helps DSI in its continuous expansion of its worldwide activities as a leading supplier for the construction and mining industries. |
| January 2007 | DSI acquires Soprofint SA, the leading Strata Control Company in Santiago, Chile. Soprofint is the region’s market leader for the supply of ground support products to underground mines and also sells products to the tunneling sector. |
| December 2006 | DSI USA acquires Fasloc, Inc., a premier producer of Resin Cartridges in the USA. Fasloc manufactures polyester resin cartridges which permanently secure roof support bolts and are particularly used in underground coal mines in the Eastern United States and Canada. |
| December 2006 | DSI consolidates business activities in the expanding tunneling market. As a result of the integration of the market leading companies ALWAG and ACI, DSI combines its global tunneling activities, including its activities in Australia, into a new specialist tunneling division. |
| October 2006 | DSI acquires the shares of American Commercial Incorporated (ACI), Bristol, VA, USA. ACI ranks as one of the leading designers and manufacturers of ground control solutions for the tunneling and mining industry in North America. |
| September 2006 | DSI acquires ALWAG, Austria. The acquisition provides a platform for DSI´s expansion in the manufacturing and supply of products and systems for the tunneling market on a global scale. |
| August 2006 | DSI sells its shares of DSI-Gonar. DSI-Gonar’s concentration on the production of hollow bars and accessories does not meet the DSI group’s strategic target to offer its customers a complete product range for the construction of tunnels and underground mines. |

| September 2005 | DYWIDAG-Systems International GmbH acquires Artéon SA in France. The acquisition of Artéon is a further step to strengthen the market position in France and the market leadership for geotechnical and form tie systems in Europe. |
| February 2005 | DYWIDAG-Systems International acquires Stewart Mining in Canada. This acquisition establishes DSI as the market leader for mining products in Canada. |
| September 2004 | DYWIDAG-Systems International USA, Inc. (DSI) - Ground Support opens a new warehouse in Pennsylvania. This warehouse focusses on meeting the specific ground support needs of local coal mines in the upper Appalachian coal belt throughout the states of Pennsylvania, Kentucky and West Virginia, USA. |
